She married
Ephraim PRATT 9 Jul 1724 at Shrewsbury, MA1 {p14},2 {p22},14 {p3},52 {p204}.
He was born 30 Nov 1704 at Sudbury, MA,
son of Ephraim and Elizabeth. However, Ward gives the birth date as
1687 and makes no mention of the parents. Further research is needed
to confirm the identification11,2 {p22},
died 22 May 1804 at Shrewsbury, MA,
but the death is not found in the Shrewsbury records. Ward cites a
report from the Rev. Dr. Dwight, president of Yale, who visited
Ephraim Pratt at Shutesbury in 1803 and believed the story that
Ephraim was then 116 years old. On the other hand, Savage specifically
discusses this reported case of amazing longevity (1687-1804) and comes
to the conclusion that it was only a fable17 {3:471},2 {p22},95 {2:358},
son of Ephraim PRATT
and Elizabeth.

Deacon James WOODS
[QQ1346] (Lydia3 RICE, Edward2, Edmund1)
,
born 30 Oct 1694 at Marlborough2 {6, 11},3 {p206},
son of Deacon John WOODS
and Lydia RICE.
He died 10 Apr 1772,
aged 77y (87 per Ward manuscript) at Marlborough56,3,1 {p114}.
He was buried at Marlborough,
in Spring Hill Cemetery56.
There is some controversy over the parentage of this James Woods.
Ward (p. 114) gives his birth date as 1685 and his parents as Deacon
James Woods and Hopestill Ward. The Rice Genealogical Register (p. 6)
gives his birth date as 30 October 1694 and his parents as Deacon John
Woods and Lydia Rice. Both of these are real persons, as confirmed by
the vital records of Marlborough, but obviously only one can be this
James. The issue is clouded by the fact that the editors of the
published vital records included material from an unpublished
manuscript by Ward himself and, in particular, specified the wrong age
at death for this Deacon James Woods (i.e., 87 instead of 77). In
fact, the age at death was not entered in the original vital records,
but it is inscribed on the gravestone, still standing and clearly
legible in the Springhill Cemetery in Marlborough. Besides the
explicit age at death, we have additional evidence pointing to the
1694 James: Deacon James married his first wife Dorothy Barnes in
1718/9, when the 1685 James would have been unusually old for a first
marriage (again, we can be sure it was Deacon James who married
Dorothy, since his grave is right next to hers and to that of his
second wife Hepzibah). We therefore must conclude that Ward was in
error, and the Rice Genealogical Register was correct.1 {p114},2 {p6},3 {p206}
He made a will 16 Sep 1769 at Marlborough,
mentioning sons David, James, and Jonathan, all sons by deceased
wife Dorothy; sons Moses and George; daughters Hepzibah Woods,
Dorothy Rice, and Lucy Woods; Aaron Witt son of Sarah of Brookfield;
son Moses to be Executor20 {docket 25449}.
He married first,
Dorothy BARNES 19 Mar 1718/19 at Marlborough2 {6, 11},3 {p332}.
She was born 24 Mar 1697/98 at Marlborough,
registered as Doratie3,2 {p11},46 {1:18},
died 10 Nov 1734,
aged 36y at Marlborough
(under the name Woods)56,2 {p11},3 {p403},
was buried at Marlborough,

He married second,

She was born 4 May 1702 at Marlborough3,2 {p11},46 {1:24},

John RICE
[QQ2205, w155] (John3, Edward2, Edmund1)
,
born 29 Sep 1675 at Sudbury, MA1 {p17},11 {p121},
son of John RICE
and Tabitha STONE.
He died 28 Jul 1733 at Sudbury1 {p49},11 {p323}.
John Rice represented the Town of Sudbury in the Massachusetts
General Court (legislative assembly) at Boston, MA in 1715.1 {p49}
Note that Ward mistakenly attributes the 1731 marriage of Sarah
Dunton both to this John Rice and to another (WFN 123).
Since the Sudbury vital records show a child was born to John and
Sarah Rice in 1736, after the death of this John, it seems clear
that the other attribution is the correct one.65 {p28},11,1 {49, 67}
He married first,
Elizabeth CLAPP 13 Mar 1700,
(May per Ward) at Sudbury,
listed as Elizabeth of Milton1 {17, 49},45 {p7},11 {181, 259}.
She was born 1 Oct 1682 at Dorchester, MA84 {p19},17 {1:389},
died 4 Dec 1705 at Sudbury, MA
(under the name Rice)11,1 {p49},
daughter of Ezra CLAPP
and Abigail POND.
Her death is often listed erroneously as July 1716, apparently because
of a garbled transmission of the (true) statement in the Clapp
genealogy that she had died before July 1716 (when her father made
his will).101 {p97}
John RICE and Elizabeth CLAPP resided at Sudbury1 {p49}.
He married second,
Sarah FROST about 1706 at Sudbury,
(not found in the published records)1 {p49}.
She died 9 Dec 1717 at Sudbury
(under the name Rice)1 {p49},11 {p323},
daughter of Thomas FROST
and Mary GIBBS.
Your authors note that Sarah's parentage is doubtful. According to
Savage, Thomas Frost's daughter Sarah was born to his second wife,
after 1691.17 {2:212}
