In the settlement of the widow's administrative account, 27 March 1751 is an item "for bringing up daughter Hannah till 7 years old, for whom John Bent was appointed guardian, January 30, 1737/381 {p47}.

He was born 4 Nov 1716 at Framingham (under the name Bruer)16,2 {17, 59}, died after 1778 at prob Rutland, MA, son of Jonathan BREWER and Arabella GOULDING. He was in the military in 1775, serving as Adjutant General under Gen. Thomas in 1775. He was wounded at the battle of Bunker Hill. He was commissioned a colonel in the 12th Mass. regiment, 1777 Jan 1, and served at Stillwater and at Albany later that year. He was cashiered 1778 Sep 294. They resided after 1744 at Rutland, MA32 {p191}.

Thomas Rice of Framingham, Executor. Thomas declined the trust, and Jonathan Edmands, father of Huldah, widow of Samuel Rice, was appointed Administrator, with the will annexed1 {p90}. Ward's account of this Hezekiah is thoroughly confused with that of his cousin Hezekiah (WRN 1028). The two Hezekiahs married sisters Abigail and Elizabeth Eames, and Ward has them backwards. Furthermore, Ward ascribes the same military service record to both, and applies the designation "Junior" to the wrong one. The citations to Ward herein have been sorted out to refer to actual events, regardless of Ward's misallocations. Nonetheless, further research may be needed to clear up any remaining confusion about military service.1 {85, 90, 151, 156},2 {227, 238} He was in the military about 1776, serving in Prentiss' Company, Marshall's Regiment, at Noddle's Island in Boston harbor from July 19 to December 1, 1776, and also in Baldwin's Company, Dike's Regiment from August 16 to November 29, 17771 {p156},2 {p237},184 {119:218}. He resided in 1793 at Hopkinton1 {p151}. Hezekiah certified, 15 March 1806, that he this day attended the funeral (of his father, Bezaleel Rice), heard the will read, and was satisfied.
