He died in 1783, aged 81y at Marlborough^{56,3 {p385}}. He was buried at Marlborough, in Old Common Cemetery^56,3. He made a will 13 Jul 1779 at Marlborough, mentioning wife Hannah; sons Jabez and Noah; and heirs of son Caleb, deceased. Son Jabez, Executor^{1 {p81}}. His will was proved 2 Apr 1783^{1 {p81}}.

He married Hannah BRIGHAM 7 Jun 1732 at Framingham, MA, both of Marlborough. The Rice Family Supplement assigns this Caleb an alternate reference number (962a), evidently because of confusion over the mismatch between birth and baptism records. In addition, both the Supplement and Rice Genealogical Register say this Caleb married a Sarah, and the Rice Register, in particular, obviously confuses this Caleb with another (WRN 1381).^{2 {p128},45 {p15}}

He died in 1771, (incorrectly shown with his son Jesse's death date per Supplement) at Marlborough, (not found in the published records)^{1 {p82},45 {p15}}. He made a will 10 Dec 1770 at Marlborough, mentioning wife Beulah; sons Joseph, Eleazer, Jesse, Ashbel, and William; daughter Mary, wife of Samuel Morse, Ruth Rice, Elizabeth and Beulah Rice. ... "To sons Ashbel and William, 150 acres in Monadnock, Mason's patent, township No. 5, NH; to Mary, wife of Samuel Morse, Ruth Rice, Elizabeth and Beulah Rice, all right in 1100 acres in New Marlboro', County of Berkshire, formerly called Housatonic"^{1 {p82}}. His will was proved 1 Oct 1771^{1 {p82}}.

He married Beulah. She was born about 1721^{1 {p82}}, died Feb 1798, aged 77y at Marlborough, (not found in the published records)^{1 {p82}}. They resided at Marlborough^{1 {p82}}. Jesse's two-story dwelling house at Marlborough was burnt in March 1769.^{1 {p82}} Guardianship of Jesse's three youngest children was committed to his widow, Bulah Rice, on 1 October 1771.

He resided at Watertown, on the family homestead with his brother Nathaniel, to whom he deeded his share of the property soon after their father's death^{126 {p262}}. Joseph RICE [QQ1759, w369] (Phineas³, Joseph², Edmund¹) , born 24 May 1712 at Sudbury^{11,1 {p43},45 {5, 15}}, son of Phineas RICE and Elizabeth WILLARD. He died 12 Feb 1789, aged 76y at Grafton, MA^{74,1 {p83},45 {p15}}. He was buried at Sutton, MA⁷⁴. He was in the military in 1757, from Grafton^{1 {p83}}. He made a will 11 Sep 1787 at Grafton, MA, mentioning wife Hannah; sons Phineas, Israel, Timothy, Caleb, and Daniel; heirs of daughters Elizabeth Pulsifer and Sarah Prentice; and daughter Mary Goodale^{1 {p83}}. His will was proved 4 May 1789^{1 {p83}}. According to Ward, Joseph died in the part of Grafton now Millbury. However, no part of Grafton ever became part of Millbury. He married second, Hannah LELAND 16 Jul 1739 at Grafton^{1 {p83},45 {5, 15},83 {p270}}. She was born about 1722^{1 {p83}}, died 14 Jun 1794, aged 71y (under the name Rice), (your authors note that her death record comes from a gravestone, rather than the Sutton town records)^{74,1 {p83},45 {p15}}, was buried at Sutton, MA⁷⁴.
