     Stephen Rice was born on 27 December 1792 at Hartland, VT.^2,4 He was the son of Eliakim Rice and Hannah Kendall.³ Stephen Rice married Phoebe Burbank on 22 December 1814 at Hartland, VT.^2,4 Stephen Rice died on 3 February 1871 at Fremont, MN.^5,4
     According to family members, Stephen Rice served in the War of 1812.
Stephen left Vermont sometime before 1850. He appears in the 1850 census, living in or near Lowell, Wisconsin. He and Phoebe moved from Wisconsin sometime before 1870. According to the 1870 Minnesota census Stephen and Phoebe were living in Fremont Township, Winona County, Minnesota, near their son Luther and his family.
His death certificate shows he died of asthma and that he was a mechanic.⁴

     David Rice was born on 25 September 1795 at Hartland, VT.^2,3 He was the son of Eliakim Rice and Hannah Kendall.⁴ David Rice married Patience Wheeler, daughter of A. Wheeler and P. (?).^2,5,6 David Rice died on 23 November 1871 at Bethel, VT.⁵

     Luther Rice appeared on the census of 1830 at Stockbridge, VT; where Luther was enumerated with one male under age 5, one male age 10 to 15, one male age 30 to 40, one female age 10 to 15 and one female age 20 to 30.⁹ He appeared on the census of 1840 at Stockbridge, VT; where Luther was enumerated with two males under age 5, two males age 10 to 15, one male age 40 to 50, two females age 5 to 10, one female age 20 to 30 and one female age 30 to 40.¹⁰ He and Lucy Rogers resided in 1850 at Stockbridge, VT.¹¹ Luther Rice was a farmer between 1850 and 1860.^12,11 He and Lucy Rogers resided in 1860 at Stockbridge, VT.¹² Luther Rice and Lucy Rogers resided in 1870 at Middlebury, VT.¹³ Luther Rice was a shoemaker.^8,7

     Charlotte Johnson was born circa 1795.³ She was the daughter of Simeon Johnson.² Marriage banns for Charlotte Johnson and Reuben Rice were published on 2 December 1816 at Ashburnham, MA; Charlotte of Dublin, NH.^1,2,4 Charlotte Johnson died on 31 August 1849 at Ashburnham, MA; at age 54.³ She was buried at Old Cemetery, Ashburnham, MA.⁵

     Sarah Rice was born on 25 November 1786 at Ashburnham, MA.^4,1,2,3 She was the daughter of Reuben Rice and Sarah Metcalf. Sarah Rice married Col Benjamin Gibbs, son of Joseph Gibbs and Elizabeth Laws, on 19 December 1813 at Ashburnham, MA; not listed as Benjamin of Cambridge.^4,1,2,3 Sarah Rice was buried on 19 January 1840 at Cambridge, MA, aged 53y, under the name Gibbs.⁵
