     William Durkee Williamson was born on 31 July 1779 at Canterbury, CT.3,2 He was the son of George Williamson and Mary Foster. William Durkee Williamson married 1st Jemima Montague Rice, daughter of Josiah Rice and Sybil Battle, on 10 June 1806 at Amherst.4,2 William Durkee Williamson died on 27 May 1846.5,2
     William Durkee Williamson graduated in 1804 at Brown College, Providence, RI, as a student at law.6 He and Jemima Montague Rice resided at Amherst, MA.2 William Durkee Williamson and Jemima Montague Rice resided in 1807 at Bangor, ME, where he completed his professional studies and was admitted to the bar in November of that year.6 William Durkee Williamson was a member of the Senate of Massachusetts, from the District of Maine. He was also Judge of Probate in 1816.5 He authored a history of that State, that cost him many years of labor.5

However, Ward mistakenly gives the death as 13 September 1819, aged 35, which is actually a slightly garbled version of his wife Olive's death.6,7
