Aaron Hardy was born circa 1705.2 He was the son of Samuel Hardy and Rebecca Forbush.2 Aaron Hardy married Hepzibeth Bradish, daughter of James Bradish and Damaris Rice, on 24 March 1730 at Westborough, MA.1,3
Although the Hardy/Hardie family genealogy lists Aaron Hardy's parents as John Hardy and Anne Savory of Bradford, MA, we have found no other evidence to support that supposed parent-child relationship. The 1710 census for Stamford, CT lists the children of Samuel and Rebecca (Forbush) Hardy. The published vital records for Westborough and Grafton show that sons Samuel, Daniel, and Phineas Hardy settled there in the early 1700s. The familial relationships provide compelling circumstantial evidence that Aaron was the brother of Samuel, Daniel, and Phineas and the son of Samuel Hardy and Rebecca Forbush. That this Aaron Hardy and his son Aaron (Jr) emigrated to Nova Scotia in the early 1760s is also based on circumstantial evidence. We encourage further research to provide more compelling evidence that this father and son are the same Aaron Hardys who emigrated to Nova Scotia. Aaron Hardy and Hepzibeth Bradish were grantors in a land transaction selling land to Joel Brooks on 7 May 1759 at Grafton, MA.4 Aaron Hardy resided circa 1765 at Annapolis, Annapolis Co, NS, as his name appeared on the petition to Grant Confirmation of the Township of Annapolis.5 He appeared on the census of between 1768 and 1770 at Annapolis, Annapolis Co, NS; enumerated in 1768 with one male and one female, both (North) American born; enumerated in 1770 with two in his household, both American (not Nova Scotia) born.6

Thomas Allen Jr was born on 6 September 1713 at Sudbury, MA.2,1 He was the son of Thomas Allen and Sarah Grande. Thomas Allen Jr married Beulah Stone on 15 February 1762 at Sudbury, MA; according to the published vital records of Sudbury. The Rice Gen'l Register asserts that this is the date of Beulah's death, but it does not say whether that assertion is based on an inspection of the original records or on pure intuition. The birth records for Thomas's children show the mother as Beulah, but there are no records of children born to Thomas in the 1760's. Either he married two different Beulahs, or the date of this marriage is incorrect in the vital records.1,3

The Wheeler genealogy incorrectly asserts that Lydia married Daniel Billings as her second husband. It was actually Lydia's daughter who married Daniel (q.v.).
